School A Child Program

Near Help Africa Foundation (NHAF) finds the need to recognize these efforts through her “School a Child” program initiative with the aim to develop innovative approaches to provide educational opportunities to vulnerable adolescents and young people in slum communities in Nigeria regardless of gender, diversity, ethnicity and religion.

The “School A Child” program is a scholarship fund dedicated to increasing access to quality education, strategic training and skill development to help vulnerable young people grow and thrive to achieve their ambitions.

Our Technical Approach

Scholarship Fund Development

The School a Child Project through human right principles and global best practices will set up a scholarship fund to support aspiring and vulnerable adolescents and youths with education accessibility, quality and affordability.

Recruitment of Beneficiary

Intending beneficiaries through open crowd-sourcing application or entry submission will be screened following the key eligibility criteria and vulnerability index. Baseline assessment tool will be deployed for final selection of cohort.

Competence and Life Skill Building

The finalists undergoes an onboarding process to the scholarship program with a 3-week capacity development to build key competencies and life skills that will help them cope and adapt to changes to improve their personality and optimize the opportunity for tangible result outcomes.

Scholarship Support

Final beneficiaries are provided with either full or partial scholarship support to achieve their educational goal either in formal (secondary and tertiary) or informal institutions (digital, technical, vocational education and training.)
